Havana

Havana, Cuba

Jibacoa is approximately one hour from the vibrant Havana City, making Jibacoa a good destinationt for people who want to enjoy a quiet beach, but also have an easy access to the capital city.

Many organized excursions (by bus with an official guide) are offered in the hotels, prices are around 60 USD per person for a full-day tour. You can also hire an official government-owned taxi or a private taxi. Many private taxis are American Classic 50’s cars (locally called Maquina or Yank Tank).

Private Havana tours are usually around 80-90 USD (for the taxi, not per person), which is quite advantageous if you are 2 to 4 people.

An individual tour by taxi includes the freedom to organize your own itinerary with the driver, but note that you won’t get all the explanations and knowledge provided by an official guide (as in organized excursions), but most taxi drivers speaking enough english to help you plan your day and take you were you want.

Finding a private taxi (taxi particular) is very easy in Jibacoa, many of them park along the hotels’ access road waiting for customers. It’s recommended to reserve a couple of days in advance because many tourists in Jibacoa opt for this type of private tours.

A “classic” tour of Havana usually include: Old Havana, the Plaza de la Revolucion, the Parque Central , the Grand Theatre, the Capitol Building, the Malecon (seaside road and promenade), having a drink in a famous bar, passing by the Vedado and Miramar districts, and some free time for shopping.
